Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

Unsure / Confidentiality issue

Five years ago as a college student w/ a very low to no income, I approached an individual who earlier ''persuded'' me to get involved in a pyramid scheme.needless to say it didnt work out. I spent $3K on a high interest credit card(first one, college card) on ''products'' for the ''pyramid'' business. Soon later I ran into financial trouble with the credit cards and my parents would not help because they were initially againest it. So I went back to the person who got me involved and said I needed him to co-sign a loan(I was young) so I can pay off the debt, I felt he was responsible for getting me into(I was 18, he was 35).He did. I have been paying the loan off since. 6 years later as a professional, selling new business for a fortune 500 company, my office is close to this persons home. This person happens to know my boss who lives in the same small town. Yesterday, this individual gets a phone call, with a message from the loan company, (unsure of conversation or words) . This invidividual assumes or is lead to believe I have ''defaulted'' on the loan. I know nothing of this He doesnt call me. He attacks my career, calls my boss, tells him I defaulted and makes up quite a story.my boss calls me...informs me of situation. what to do?

Re: Unsure / Confidentiality issue

For a civil action, you need some monetary loss. I do not see any loss at this time.

You may have a lible suit, depending on all of the circumstances of your job, etc., whether you lose it, or miss out on a promotion because of what he said. Also, you may also have a suit for intentional interference with a contractual relationship. You should also contact the loan company and see whether they show you in default.
