Legal Question in Health Care Law in Indiana
Care for Mother
I am looking for some information on the care of my mother. She is 85 years old and is still recovering from a stroke. My question is, is it legal to charge my brothers and sisters for services from a nurse who comes in twice weekly to help me take care of her. She does not qualify for any assistants from state or government programs that I can find. I have 6 brother and sisters and the cost would be only $40.00 per month. Any help that you can give me on this matter will be wonderful.
Thank You

Re: Care for Mother
There are two parts to answering your question. First, you can ask your brothers and sisters to contribute to your parents' support. The second part concerns if they refuse. Under Indiana law you can get a court order to make them pay. Good luck and I hope this is some help.
