Legal Question in Health Care Law in Indiana
Lap band surger
I have been with m-plan insurance since 2002 i just found out today on 01-25-2007 they revised are insurance plan to keep cost down and one way of that was to take my bariatrics coverage off are plan through my work. Nobody seemed to know these changes but one person that ok'd these changes. My wife has seen a doctor and qualifys for the surgery but now the insurance is saying they wont cover it as of 03-06 nobody came to us about any changes. We have over 500 employes. I didnt know if a letter from a attourney would help. I am with saint frances network through m-plan and a doctor from saint frances is the one who recomended us to look in to this surgery. She has been declined and is appealing the decision of the insurance any input would help us get this approved. Thanks

I suggest calling Indiana's Department of Insurance.

Unfortunately your company and even the insurer has the right to change coverage.
