Legal Question in Immigration Law in Indiana
applying for greencard
I am getting a PhD at a university in USA in Engineering under F1. If my sister, who is a citizen, petition for a greencard for me in 2009 or 2010, what would happen if when I graduate I found an employer would like to apply for the greencard for me? Will that nullify the first petition?

Re: applying for greencard
Dear Inquirer:
Your employer's petition would not have any effect on a new employer's petition. Most likely, the employer's petition would result in a green card must faster than any petition from a brother or sister, as those fall in the lowest preference category.
Please email us should you have any further questions.
