Re: Debt liability

if a non-U.S. citizen signs an agreement, a contract, theoretically, he or she is liable. On the other hand, it may be technically difficult to enforce if such a person decides to abandon his or her responsibility by returning to their country or, in some cases, disappearing altogether. This is why few individuals or corporations here in the U.S. will contract with non-citizens. If the individual is a lawful permanent resident, they may have an edge, but the same applies. These are contract matters and the issue is whether there is jurisdiction over a non-citizen.
