My husband and I have been married 3 years with 5 children and been together almost 8 years and recenetly filed for papers. How long do you think it will be before he can work here legally? He's from Mexico and has been here almost 12 years

It would depend on how did he last enter the USA. If he last enter the USA legally, once you file for the visa petition and submit the application for permanent residency, he could receive a work authorization 90 days from the receipt date on the receipt for his permanent residency and work authorization applications. If he entered the USA illegally, then there is a more complex process he would have to complete outside the USA. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me.
