I have been married and living to U.S. citizen for 3 years now. I got my green card based on our marriage. I got my green card that expires in 2015. I am eligible for getting citizenship but My husband is not helping with the documents. He doesn't have a job, doesn't want to work. I am paying all the house hold bills. If I get divorce, Can I still stay in the U.S.? Is my Green card still valid after divorce? please help me.

Re: immigration

You should speak with an attorney to determine your eligiblity to naturalize now. Generally, if you have been married to a US citizen for three years, and living with him, you can file for naturalization. You do not need your husband's "help" to do this. You will need to show that you are married and living together at the time of your naturalization interview. An immigration will be able to advise you regarding whether you can file the application now, or if it is in your best interest to wait to file the application given your marital situation.
