Legal Question in Insurance Law in Indiana

I was in a car accident 3 weeks ago (in Indiana). I was T-Boned in the drivers door by a driver who was not paying attention, and pushed into a car that was waiting at a stop sign. The police report states the other driver was at fault, as well as contains multiple accounts from witness' backing up this conclusion. After 3 weeks I have yet to hear from the other drivers insurance company, even after contacting them 2 weeks ago (I was told the adjuster would be calling real soon). The other driver is insured with Auto Owners Insurance, and I through Geico if it makes a difference. I contacted my insurance company the day of the accident, but they told me my claim should process through the at fault drivers insurance. I was forced to rent a car on my own, which has cost me $600+ to date. I don't know what to do at this point, I have NEVER experienced a more unprofessional claims process. My car is completely un drivable. At this point the frustration and rental car fees have finally pushed me over the edge. What should I do from here? File through my insurance company (which has full collision coverage, but no rental reimbursement)? Or do I need to hire an attorney? To add insult to injury a week ago I contacted who I was told is the best attorney in town to handle this, spent about 30 minutes on the phone with an "associate" answering questions, then I was told the attorney was out of the office and would call me the next day. Again, this was a week ago and I have not heard from him or his office. Please help, my days have become filled with constant frustration and I don't know what I need to do at this point to channel said energy in a positive and productive way. Thanks in advance.

You should probably put the claim in with your own insurance company. If you have an economic loss over what is covered, you can pursue it yourself in small claims court.
