Legal Question in Insurance Law in Indiana
Settlements
I have a scheduled settlement to
recieve when I'm 25 (23 now) from
an accident I had when I was a
minor (16) and wanted to recieve
the money now, for school reasons.
Is there any way to do this. It was
tax free so shouldn't there just be a
fee since the settlement is my name
and I was a minor?

Re: Settlements
You need to hire a lawyer to petition the probate court to release your funds.
You would have to show good cause.
Normally when you are a minor and have a settlement amount, the entire amount should be turned over to you when you hit majority - which is 18.
The fact that it is structured out to age 25 means that you need to talk to the attorney who negotiated the settlement because that is an unusual settlement arrangement or there is more information that you left out of your original question.
Good Luck,
