I'll start by assuming that you have asked your ex-fiance for your items and he has refused your request.

First, be clear on what property belongs to you. Was some of the property, furniture perhaps, purchased jointly with your ex-fiance?

You can ask a police officer to escort you to recover your items. However, if your ex-fiance isn't willing to cooperate, which he is not obligated to do, the matter will need to be settled in court. You should contact a local attorney to discuss your options (small claims court might be a good choice). In the meantime, be sure you are able to produce receipts or credit card statements that show you purchased the property.

Hope this helps.
