Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana
Employer created a hostile workplace for me as a gay male
I worked for a very well-known international company in Indianapolis, Indiana in the 1970/80s. As a gay male, I was subject to all kinds of harassment, and told by the CEO and personnel manager that as long as I was open about my sexuality that I could expect such treatment. I was denied promotion, kept from participating in employee events, given poor ratings by those who told me that homosexuality was wrong. I worked there for almost ten years and finally resigned because I could not take it any longer. Subsequently, I have been afraid to work in a corporate environment for fear of similar treatment.

I am sorry to hear of your treatment. It sounds like you could use a good therapist to discuss some of these issues so that you can pursue whatever employment or other endeavors you wish.
From a legal standpoint, you did not ask a question. If you are wondering whether you can sue at this point, the answer regrettably is no because the incidents apparently occurred in the 80's at the latest. The time limits to file any lawsuits have long since passed.
If you have other information or a different question, please repost.
Good luck.

Unfortunately, if you had any potential legal claims based on the facts described, the statutes of limitations on any such claims would have run long ago. The time within which to initiate an administrative complaint and/or a civil action is fairly brief in these cases.
