Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

Independent Contractor Payment

I was recently ''hired'' on as a ''contract transcriber'' to do work from home. I live in IN yet the company bases out of MA, so I'm not sure which state regulations will apply. There was no exchange of a contract or any written set of company policies given to me upon ''hire''. I have been refused payment for services rendered and company deadline policy was cited as their grounds for refusal. This decision was not forwarded to me until I questioned when I would be paid (some 3 weeks later). Can I legally demand payment for work completed?

Re: Independent Contractor Payment

First do no more work for this agency;

Second, call the attorney's general's fraud division;

Third, send them a 93A letter of demand by certified mail;

Fourth, retain all work products until you get paid;

Fifth, contact a lawyer;

Sixth, from the information you gave, it is unclear whose laws apply.
