Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana
A relationship was started with my employer after he approached me daily at work for 8-9 months to get me to go to dinner with him, I finally agreed, but he neglected to fill me in on his marital status. I found out 2 months later that he has a wife and she lives in another state. The "affair" finally ended. I told him to go back to his wife that I couldn't do this anymore, 3 weeks later I lost my job after 3 years of employment and then indirectly threatened my life. Now, I have his overnight bag with his stuff in it. When can I legally get rid of it? How can employers do this to their employees and then go on their merry way?

You can return his overnight bag to him or dispose of it as you see fit. As to why employers can get away with these things, apparently you have not filed a report with the equal employment opportunity commission claiming sexual discrimination, nor have you contacted your own counsel to pursue a claim for you. failure to report incidents like this is why employers can "get away with it".
