Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana
Sex Discrimination
My wife recently found out that a co-worker with the exact same job title and responsiblities has a MUCH higher salary than her, although she has more experience and more education. The only difference is that she is female and the co-worker is male. The information was not obtained illegally. She mentioned it to her boss and is now being ignored at work and doesn't know what to do. What is the next step?

Re: Sex Discrimination
You can file a Federal lawsuit under the Equal Pay Act and file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC. If you would like assistance in proceeding or require additional information, please contact me at [email protected].
Re: Sex Discrimination
Both Title VII and the Equal Pay Act prohibit sex discrimination in pay. It sounds as if your wife can establish the necessary elements for a claim. If you would like to discuss taking appropriate legal action, please feel free to contact at the below address/phone #.
