Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

Supervisor Quit and I get fired!

I was recently hired on to a company that I was working contract for. We went thru all the paper work etc. Work was good. Projects caught up etc. The supervisor decided to quit and the day he quit they also said I was fired. They use excuse of work done incorrectly etc. I had done work on several project no problem, This guy quit that by the way hired me and now my work was insufficient. I find something very wrong with this What if any recourse do I have?I have my bills, rent to pay like the next man , I enjoy my work and I am good at what I do.

Re: Supervisor Quit and I get fire

Probably not much you can do about it, absent an expensive lawsuit. Your contract would provide the basis for just about everything here. Contracts are what they are. They give the parameters of your rights, interests and recourse for breach of that agreement. They may curtail rights you'd otherwise have under the law.

If you sued, it would be under a breach of contract claim. You might want to invest a hundred bucks or so and have a lawyer near you review it and tell you whether it is worth pursing.
