Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

Tuition reimbursement

Will I be legally required to repay tuition reimbursement? There are no statements as such on any of the paperwork I turn in for tuition reimbursement, but it is mentioned in the employee handbook. The handbook is distributed to all employees, and the requirement to repay tuition is clear, but there is a disclaimer on the page we sign and turn in from the handbook which states that the policies are not meant to imply a contract of any kind. I know this disclaimer limits the employers responsibility, but does it limit, or even eliminate, mine as well?

Thank you

Re: Tuition reimbursement

Maybe -- and maybe not. To answer your question it would be necessary to review the handbook and all of the paperwork surrounding your tuition reimbursement claims. Please feel free to e-mail me to schedule an appointment.
