Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Indiana

eviction

My wife and our children have been living in a townhouse on the eastside of evansville IN. since 2005. i pay my rent at least 1 week early and stay as current as possible on everything else. Three days ago i received a notice for imidiate eviction 5 days after jan. 26 courtdate! Apparently at some point the electric bill was turned over to them , yet weve been paying the bill to what we thought 0 balance. they said it has two accounts 1 for them and ours. no one made us aware of this or sent any notification, the apartments or electric company. we asked their lawyer if we could pay the bill with charges, he said there was a note saying they want us out! My wife is 6 and a half months pregnant, i broke my foot and will be off work for at least 8 weeks, not to mention i have two toddlers. since they gave no notice or warning, by law can they do that? We have never been in trouble, or had any problems since we moved in. i truly need advice or some direction. is there anything i can do?

Re: eviction

They have to give you a notice to move. What does your contract state you are to pay? Do you have receipts of what you have paid for? More information is needed to completely asses your case.
