Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Indiana
Hello,
My girlfriend got someone break-in her apartment. She went out with friends from 1am to 3am and when she got home her place was upside down. The intruder(s) broke the glass door and took the time to completely destroy her apartment, stealing all her electronics, credit cards and others. Her spare car key and her apartment spare key were also stolen. She is no longer feeling safe at the apartment and wants to move out. The property manager told her that the property is not responsible for break-in and she will have to pay fees in order to break her lease.
Can she legally challenge the apartment property and move out as she fears for her life?
