Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Indiana

Can An Attorney Date a Client?

I dated my attorney that I hired for a custody case. I asked him on several occasions if this was somehow ''wrong''. He assured me that this was common and completely normal. I later stopped seeing him. He ''settled'' on my court case and did not finish the deed. He charged me for ''personal'' time and insisting that I pay him.

This is unethical conduct. You should contact your local bar association with a complaint. If you are being billed for time when you and your attorney were together in social situations, tell him to sue you for the money and make it public what he did.
