Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Indiana

Request to Admit

As a plaintiff acting pro se in a medical malpractice lawsuit, I sent the defendant a request to admit. I subsequently received the request to admit back with the majority of statements denied, or neither denied or admitted. The denied responses are not truthful and the neither denied or admitted just evade answering.

My question is, what legal recourse is there to make the defendant answer the request to admit truthfully? I would like to resubmit the request to admit, but obviously need something that would hold the defendant accountable for committing perjury.

Re: Request to Admit

You need to look at the Trial Rules to learn about ramnifications for wrongful denials. You might also want to read a few books and articles on trial advocacy and see what is suggested that would relate to the facts in your case. There is a law library open to the public on the third floor at IUNorthwest in Gary. Good Luck
