Legal Question in Personal Injury in Indiana

i was arrested in july on a body attatchment that was in my sister name, the arresting officer put the cuffs on me too tight and i had told him this i was taken to jail and when i was released my personal doctor has told me i have nerve damage in my wrist due to this. when we went to court the judge stated that i should never have been arrested and said the whole thing was messed up and that the body attatchment was dropped prior to this, it was thrown out of court. my question is can i sue for false arrest and damage to my wrist?
