assault
new employee attacked by a mentally deranged patient
new employee has not insurance
new employee suffering from the traumatic experience
does the new employee have any legal rights to monetarily compensate for medical expense, physical and emotional injury?

I assume you work at a hospital or mental health care facilty and were injured on the job. In such case, workmans comp insurance should provide coverage. If my assumptions are incorrect then I would need more detail before opining as to your ability to be compensated for your injuries.
