Legal Question in Personal Injury in Indiana
I was in a car accident in december, which was my fault at the time i had no license or insurance but it was an emergency, i recently recieved a letter from the "victims" insurance lawyers i contacted them and tried to come up with an agreement which was $100 a month to pay a debt of approximately $3800 I'm a single mother of two with no employment so that was all i could afford. The lawyers contacted me again with a contract the contract includes a cluse of me having to pay an 8% interest rate for every month it takes for me to pay off the debt. i was not aware there was going to be that clause and i am wondering if i should not sign the contract and go to court?

You really need to meet with an attorney in person to go over all of the facts to determine if $3800 is a fair settlement. 8% interest is the same amount that they would receive if a judgment against you was entered.
