What is a fair settlement for personal injury claim

I was involved in a car accident a year ago. I was slightly injured but mostly stressed and put out about the whole situation. How do I know what a fair settlement would be? The insurance company has made an offer but I did not except because I did not think they were being fair. I have not heard from them since I rejected their offer - what do I do now?

What were your injuries? What was the offer? You will probably have to sue the person who caused the accident.
