Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana
I am a 53 y.o single F in Indiana. Own a home, paid for assessed originally at $131,000.00. I bought a split level home w/finished basement, and have had chronic flooding in the basement ever since. I had the house reassessed (now @$110.000 ranch w/un, basement) and the assessor showed me the construction errors that were made. Im an disabled recieving only $796.00 p/mo. As a result of cost of living and chronic home damage Ive gotten behind on prop taxes and face foreclosure in Nov. Ive had to try to sell all downstairs furniture before its worthless and cant use the basement for anything. I want to sell the house but no one will touch this Im sure plus we live in a low sale area, large immigrant poplulation. 1. do I have any legal recourse with contractor (other homes have problems too). 2. What is the foreclosure process- will I lose everything? and 3. If I can sell, do I have to disclose the flooding problem to the buyer? Please Help, I cant afford fees
