Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana
My boyfriend was recently laid off from a ten-year job, and we are currently severely struggling to pay rent for our three bedroom home. we have a five year old, and a two year old. he gets unemployment right now, and before he got laid off, i was just a stay at home mother. now we're desperately trying to find work, and it hasn't been going well. i was wondering if there was an easy way to break a lease, without having to pay everything up front. our rent is currently $825 a month, and we simply can no longer afford it.

There is no easy way to break a lease. However, if there are things about the rental that make the property unhealthy you may be able to claim a constructive eviction and move out. You also could just talk with the landlord and see if he or she will negotiate a lower rent with you.
