Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

buying home on contract

The man we bought our house from and is holding mortage is getting divorced. He gave wife our mortage so we will begin paying her. She retained her maiden name. Do we need new contract or something in writing. Or will reciept from her do? Is he responsible for new paperwork if we need it?

It is extremely important that you only make contract payments to the person who legally owns the house. We recommend that you consult counsel.
