Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Buying a house

We were planning on buying a house to be built.Had to put down $500.00. Went through the loan aggrement andgot approved for the loan. We were going to go thru the gaurantee buy program and decided to rent instead,so we were suppose to sign an ammendment to cancel that but the sales associate forged my husbands name without permission. We really didn't like that idea of her doing that. Now we decided to back out of the deal. They are saying we have to pay 2,500.00 to get out of the aggreement. Do we have any rights on her forging his name?

Re: Buying a house

If she forged the signature it is not valid. They me wish to seek specific performance but you have fraud as a defense. If you have proof that she did such as she told you she did and it was no big deal, you might have a criminal charge against her as well. Good luck.
