Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

A church near my house has a 10-15 acre field behind the main building that they do not maintain. It's in the city limits and I have complained numerous times to the city and the pastor about the weeds that get 6 feet tall and mice all over the place. If I start maintaining it myself, keeping it mowed and nice, can I later file an adverse possession claim against it later?
