Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

I entered into a Land contract a little over a month ago. When I signed the contract, I had moved money into a bank account but the funds were placed on hold. The check for the deposit bounced, I paid off the amount as soon as I could and also paid over $500 the buyer claimed to have accured in fees. I did not receive a receipt or verification for those fees, I just trusted him. I then had to put in $800 to fix the plumbing he claimed to be working. Tonight he callen and said he was stopping by because he would like to cancel the contract. I agreed to meet him and read it over. When he got here he handed me a half sheet of paper and asked me to sign. I asked him what it was for and he said it was just to state that I had received the letter. I signed it and he handed me a paper and left. The paper he asked me to sign was a cancellation of contract stating I needed to move out. I'd appreciate help because I feel like I was just scammed and have no idea what to do or where to turn.

Without seeing the land contract and its terms and conditions it is difficult to say whether you have been mistreated. Most likely though, you were in default on the contract. You could consult an attorney but the amount involved here might not be worth it. As long as you have no further liability, it might be best to walk away from the situation.
