Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana
My fiance' is a contractor and recently had to put a lien on the house he was working on. The homeowner has now agreed to complete the contract and pay for the work. If the homeowner does NOT pay upon completion of the work, will interest be accrued on the amount owed to my fiance'? Also, can the homeowner eliminate some of the work covered in the signed contract and pay my fiance' less money? They have a signed contract listing all of the work to be done. The homeowner is now trying to remove some of the work, hoping to cut his cost. Is he obligated to pay for the work as the work is in a signed contract?

This is a bit complex for this forum as the question has both lien and contract law implications.
You should see an attorney in person. Good luck.
