Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

habitual litigators

I would like to know how I can find out how many times someone has filed lawsuits. Can you look under someones name to see if they have filed lawsuits habitually? I need to know as soon as possible.

Re: habitual litigators

The only way to search for habitual litigants is to search the records for each county in the clerk's office. They have a plaintiff index you can use but since Indiana has 94 counties, this could take some time-Good Luck!!

Re: habitual litigators

There are several ways to check for litigation. One is obviously to check with the County Clerk in the county where this person resides. You could check with the Northern or Southern District and Bankruptcy Courts for names of plaintiffs there. If you have access to internet searches, you might go to AccessIndiana and look at the data base of cases decided by the supreme & appellate court for parties whose cases have been appealled. If you are looking in Marion County, you would also need to check each of the 9 small claims court divisions separately. I would recommend that you check in the county where the person lives and in the surrounding counties. There is no one statewide repository of such information.

Re: habitual litigators

Ask your county clerk. They keep court records.
