Home mortgage

If a mortgage only has one person on the loan and a significant other is placed on the deed, what is the significant other entitled to if there is a relationship split?

Re: Home mortgage

This can depend on a lot of things: Did the so contribute to purchasing the home? Maintaining the home? Mortgage payments or taxes? What other property do they have., and how is it "split" if they split?

You should NEVER own real property with another with any expectation that the other owns 50% without a written agreement spelling out those different expectations.

Good luck.

Re: Home mortgage

That will depend on whether there was a written agreement, monetary contributions and the custom and practice of how things were owned between the two of you if there is no written agreement.
