Homeowner Assocation Laws

I live in a gated community governed by an HOA. Recently they have incurred legal fees due to a lawsuit by a homeowner living here. Now I am stuck with part of the HOA's legal fees. Am I, having nothing to do with or know what the matter concerns, legally bound to pay the HOA's legal fees?

One would have to read the bylaws and declaration to be sure. However. most likely, yes.
