Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

landlord won't answer calls.

My lease is up at the end of July. I am wanting to move, I have put in an application at another place and they have been trying to get ahold of my landlord to fax her the rental verification form. But she doesn't answer her phone or return the call. I have called her and left the number and name of the person she needs to talk to, and told her to please call her and give the the info that was needed to get my application accepted. And I don't think she has. I have been waiting for over a week. What should I do. The place I am wanting to move to said they can't do anything till they get that information from my landlord.

Re: landlord won't answer calls.

Write your landlord a letter or if the new landlord will trust you to deliver a copy of its request personally deliver it to your current landlord. Another option might be to collect all of your cancelled rent checks and ask the new landlord if it would accept a copy of the front and back of your payment checks in lieu of information directly from the old landlord who is obviously unwilling to cooperate.
