Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

landlord-tenant responsibilites

I just recently moved out of an apartment. I recieved a bill from my former landlord for several items of which most I disagree with. One of the main charges was for his and his mother's labor to paint, clean, etc. Am I responsible for labor!?! My understanding is that there are certain things a landlord has to do when someone moves out. I don't feel I should have to pay for labor. He is also charging me for the paint, blinds, marks on the walls, among other things, that I consider to be normal wear and tear of a home. I lived there for two and a half years.

Re: landlord-tenant responsibilites

Generally normal wear and tear is an exception to damage claims by a landlord. However, the lease language controls and other facts are important in assessing the landlord's damages claim-did you break the lease?
