Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Legal Claim to Real Estate?

Someone I know owed back property taxes on a piece of land and the property had been put up for auction to collect the back taxes. I paid the back taxes and the property was removed from the auction list. The records show that I paid the back property taxes and not the owner. I have not been reimbursed by the owner for the money I paid out for their back taxes. Do I have any legal claim to this property in the state of Indiana?

Not unless you bought it at the tax auction.
