Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

I lived with someone and had my name on the lease. Now we dont stay together any more, the rent is still being paid so it hasnt when to collections. I want to open a new lease with another apartment, will the other apartment not let me move in?

You are legally permitted to rent more than one apartment at a time.

You can sign as many leases as you wish. However, if whoever is making the payments on the first apartment decides to stop or if that person defaults, you could be liable for the balance due on the first lease. So, before you sign a second lease, maybe you'd better get things straightened out on the first lease.
