Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Lost Lot

We purchased a home approximately four years ago. On the listing there were two lots listed. On the appraisal there were two lots listed. On all the paperwork that we saw there were two lots listed. On the mortgage there were two lots listed. However, we recently found out that when the mortgage paperwork was sent to the county recorder's office to be recorded, the front page only listed one lot. A couple of pages back both lots were listed but on the front page just the one lot was listed. Our taxes are excrowed so we didn't know about this until it was brought to our attention that the lot had sold in a tax sale for $5000. We found out that the taxes were not being paid on the lot because when it was recorded only the one lot was listed. This lot was never put in our name. It was still in the name of the people we bought it from. They are the ones who brought this to our attention. How do we get our property back? This was obviously not our fault. What do we do?
