Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

We have a mortgage on a home with a deeded boat dock. We are interested in purchasing a different home in the same neighborhood but it does not have a boat dock. Is there a way to separate the dock from the current deed and take it with us to another home?

Possible, but not likely as the dock is part of the collateral for the loan. However, if you can get the lender to agree to a partial release of mortgage that releases the dock area, it is possible.

This is rather complex, so you shoud contact a local attorney.
