Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana
My ex and I have a mortgage in Indiana. The property has not been paid on since 2005. My ex told me he had sold it on a land contract to some people in 2005, he lied. It even says that on out divorce paper. I had to pay a lawyer to "put the place back in our name". I was military when this happened, and he is military now. We just want to not have this house in our names anymore. Short sale, denied, deed in liu of foreclosure denied. I have worked with the lender but the property is still hanging in limbo and it is showing 120+ days late on credit report. How can we get rid of this property?

You need to hire counsel and a broker to work together on a short sale. It may be that they will not do anything until an actual foreclosure has been filed.
