Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

My mother deeded her home to me 7 years ago. She has now developed dementia and we have had to put her in a nursing home. My sister wants to purchase mom's home for half of the value. I don't want to sell it to her that way because mom could live several more years and may need more money than just half. I have been taking care of mom and doing her bills for her. My sister feels that I have stolen from my mom and doesn't understand why I don't feel I can sell it to her for half of the value.

She is supposedly taking me to court. What are my options here? I want to sell the home to an outside buyer and put the proceeds in an account for mom to use as needed. Whatever is left after she passes would be divided equally.

If she files a complaint, take the complaint to an attorney's office and hire them to represent you. This is not something that you can handle on your own, and there are too many possibilities to try to tell you your options in this forum.

If you are sued, retain counsel immediately. Don't try to handle this on your own.
