Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

My mother just passed away. Her estate was left to her current husband, but her IRA and two Annuities were left to me as I was the beneficiary. Her husband wants this money and is making threats to take legal action if I do not give it to him. This money was money my mother got after her divorce from my father of which her current husband made absolutely NO contribution to. I am 53 years old and I guess he thinks he should be entitled to everything after their short 13 year marriage and me get nothing. This was my mothers wish and she made these choices with her money soon after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but prior to any treatment, medication, or surgeries. In in her new will I was also listed as her executor. As the Executor do I have any rights for serving in receiving any payment from the estate? He is making big threats to take all kinds of legal action. Thus why I am asking my questions. Thanks

If you are approved by the court as the personal representative (executor), then you should be able to receive compensation. Your estate attorney should be able to give you the details. If you have not contacted one yet, you must do so IMMEDIATELY to have any hope of compensation and to make sure you do everything right in the face of a widower who seems determined to make your life difficult.
