Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

New neighbor bought property next door. He tore down old house. We are zoned for open industrial the building is 3 times bigger than the original. Zoning law said he could only build the same size square footage. But the owner decided to build 3 times the square footage. House is 3/4 of the way done and his permit has been extended twice already. Now the building inspetor had him apply for variance to cover the citys rear and the bza granted him that variance. After the fact he destroyed my trees and devalued my property. There is a health and safety issue here.

You need to file your objections and complaints with the proper governmental authorities. You also need to attend all of these meetings where his petitions are heard with the bza. Unless you participate and make yourself known, he will get what he wants. Perhaps you should have a real estate attorney look into this for you. It's a worthwhile investment on your part.
