Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana
My parents own a lot in country squire lakes and have been paying 300 dollars each year in fees and assessments. They haven't used the property in several years and can't give it away. The deed is in my fathers name only and he recently passed. Can my mother stop making payments withot it affecting her credit?

Probably not. There is most likely an agreement that your parents signed making them liable for the fees. If your mother stops payment, the association can sue her, obtain a judgment, and this would show up against her credit.
