Property dispute
Purchased and signed a contract with boyfriend in 2007 to purchase a used mobile home. I gave $1600 down payment, paid insurance and property taxes for 2008-2009. Boyfriend broke up with me and is marrying someone else. He says that i am not entitled to anything because i was never allowed to live there full time and hes the one that goes and pays the lot rent and payments. We work mostly on the road together and we allowed a friend of his to reside in home while we are gone. Over the summer of 2008 i was not allowed to come there because he needed some space. Space included girl down the street that i didnt find out about till October. I also gave him monies in september and october to make payments. Now he claims the property is his and he is going to sell and have titled in just his name. Is this legal and what can i do to at least recover the 1600 i put down.

are you in title, if so he is not going to be able to retitle the property.

Sue him in small claims. Get an affidavit from the renter and all of your proofs of payment together.

Lay out what the agreement was and how he violated it. Good luck.
