Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

property expenses

My sister and I own lake property together as Tenants in Common that was given to us by our parents before their deaths. My sister has not helped pay for utilities, real estate taxes, home owner's insurance, etc. for the past two years, and it doesn't look like she will help with anything in the near future. She does use the lake house occasionally. She has done very little with the upkeep or repairs, and my family has had to do almost everything. Is there anything that can be done? I don't want to be forced to sell, so I don't say anything that would cause trouble.

Re: property expenses

I do not immediately know the answer to this question, but would be happy to check into what the law requires should you want us to do so. My first blush reaction is that each tenant in common is liable for expenses in proportion to its ownership interest, but I would need to confirm this to be sure.
