Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

I own property with my husband,the mortgage is in husbands name only. Husband dies. mortgage is more than property worth, wife can't pay mortgage,needs to get rid of home. What should wife do with home to be free and clear. PLEASE HELP

Wife probably does not have to do anything and can even live in the home until the foreclosure sale takes place. However, wife is responsible to maintain, pay taxes and insure until that date since she is an owner. She can also probably give a deed in lieu or a quitclaim deed. She should contact a local attorney.
