Property Line

how close can a neighbor build a barn to the line can they be on the line we are wanting to put a fence up and they built a barn and are on our property about 2 1/2 feet. we had a survey done to make sure of it.

Setback requirements are usually a matter of deed restrictions or local ordinance. If there is an encroachment onto your property, this is a separate issue. Part of the answer will depend on how long this state of affairs has existed, and whether you or your predecessor in interest had notice of the encroachment.
