Re: Property Line And Fence Laws

You can find the property line by hiring a surveyor. Your local government has the rules on what type and size fence you can build.

Re: Property Line And Fence Laws

Laws relating to fencing are found in Title 32 of the Indiana Code. To determine where your property line is, either you and the neighbor agree to its exact placement or you have a staked survey to point out where it is based on your legal description of your property. If you reside in an urban area, your city may have a code with respect to residential housing. Different rules may apply between rural and urban areas. Hire a surveyor familiar with your neighborhood and its regulations.
